Applying to universities
Applications go directly to each autonomous university's own portal on its own timeline, there is no shared application service. Budget for December, February deadlines against an August intake; for NUS, International Qualifications applicants (incl. Indian Standard 12) should expect results online by around July, not May.
Confirm the intake and each university's exact deadline
MandatoryThe main intake across NUS/NTU/SMU is August, with applications for international qualifications typically opening in early December and closing in February (NUS's AY2026/27 international-qualifications window: 3 Dec 2025 to 23 Feb 2026). A smaller January intake exists for some graduate/Masters programmes. Deadlines are set independently by each university and by qualification type (Indian boards vs IB vs A-Level), so record each one separately per shortlisted programme.

MandatoryTypical set: Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets/board certificates, SAT/ACT/AP score report (where required), English proficiency evidence (if not waived), passport copy, CV/personal statement, and, for competitive Masters, letters of recommendation and a statement of purpose. Certified/notarised copies are usually accepted; check each university's exact submission format (many are fully online uploads, unlike Germany's paper-heavy process).

MandatoryCreate a separate account per university (NUS, NTU, SMU each have their own applicant portal). Most application fees are modest (tens of SGD) compared to Western equivalents. Track status directly on each portal; for NUS, International Qualifications applicants (which includes Indian Standard 12) should expect their admission outcome online by July, this is a materially later and less specific date than the fixed May/June windows NUS publishes for its Singapore-qualification (A-Level/Poly/IB/NUS High) applicants, so do not assume the earlier date applies.
Accept the offer and make the Tuition Grant decision
MandatoryOn receiving an offer, International Qualifications applicants (incl. Indian Standard 12) accept via the Applicant Portal by the individual deadline stated on their own electronic admission outcome letter, NUS does not publish a single fixed acceptance window for this category (the '2 Jan, 25 May' / '1 Jun, 16 Jun' Joint Acceptance Portal windows apply only to NUS High School Diploma, Polytechnic, IB, and Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level applicants). At or shortly after acceptance, international students must decide whether to take the MOE Tuition Grant, do this only after the family understands the 3-year bond (see Finances and Working & staying on).

Unlike Germany's uni-assist (which adds weeks of pre-check lead time on top of the university deadline), Singapore's direct-application model means the university's own stated deadline is the real deadline, but each university and each qualification track has its own date, so don't assume dates carry across institutions.
