Required disclosure (App Store / Play Store). Both Apple and Google require apps that allow sign-up to also offer in-app account deletion. Bramica supports deletion from inside the app, and we also accept email requests in case you no longer have the app installed.
1. Delete inside the app (fastest)
- Open the Bramica app and sign in.
- Tap the menu (top-right) → Settings.
- Tap Account → Delete account.
- Confirm with the OTP we send to your email (or with Apple / Google re-authentication if you signed in via those providers).
- Your account is queued for deletion and you are signed out immediately.
Deletion is queued and completes within minutes for most accounts; the full backend purge (including cached extracts and uploaded files) completes within 30 days.
2. Delete by email (if you no longer have the app)
Email bramica@icyarcanine.com with the subject “Account Deletion Request” and include:
- The email address you used to sign up (or the email associated with your Google / Apple ID).
- Confirmation that you intend to permanently delete the account and that you understand the data will not be recoverable.
We will verify the request by sending a confirmation email to the address on file. Once you confirm, we delete the account within 7 working days and reply when complete.
3. What gets deleted
We delete all of the following from our production systems within 30 days:
- Your account (email, sign-in provider link).
- Your profile (name, education history, target countries, IELTS scores, all the values you entered or that we extracted).
- Every document you uploaded (Class 10 / 12 marksheets, bachelor's transcript, IELTS report) and every extract we created from those documents.
- Your search history and any rate-limit usage rows linked to your user ID.
- Any saved comparison views, audit reports, or notes.
4. What we retain, and why
Two narrow things survive deletion:
- Hashed identifier on an abuse blocklist. A one-way SHA-256 hash of your email (and, where applicable, your OAuth provider sub) is retained for up to 12 months on an internal blocklist to prevent immediate re-creation of an account that was deleted because of abuse. This blocklist contains no recoverable personal data, the hash cannot be reversed into your email.
- Aggregated, de-identified usage statistics. Counts like “X searches ran on country Y in May” have no personal data and may persist in summary form.
Backups taken before your deletion request expire on their own rotation schedule (longest retention: 30 days).
5. What we cannot delete
- Payment receipts. If you bought a student or counsellor plan, the financial transaction records held by Razorpay, Apple, or Google are governed by their policies, not ours. We do not store full card numbers.
- Email replies you sent to us. If you previously emailed bramica@icyarcanine.com, that thread lives in our support inbox. Tell us in your deletion request if you want those messages purged too and we will clear them.
6. Billing and deletion
Student and counsellor plans are one-time purchases with a fixed access period, nothing auto-renews, so there are no future charges to cancel before deleting. Deleting your account forfeits any time remaining on a plan you already paid for; unused time is not refundable except as the payment rail allows (see the Refund Policy). If you own a counsellor organization with other team members, transfer ownership or wind the workspace down before deleting, email bramica@icyarcanine.com if you need help.
7. Effect on existing obligations
Deletion of your account does not extinguish any obligation that arose before deletion, including any payment due to a platform, any breach of the Terms of Service, or any liability for content you previously submitted. Provisions of the Terms of Service that by their nature should survive termination (including, without limitation, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, intellectual-property ownership, and governing law) survive deletion of your account.
8. Changed your mind?
Once a deletion has been confirmed and processed, the data cannot be recovered. If you regret deleting and want to use the Service again, you may register a new account, it will be a brand-new account with no link to the prior history. Where an account was deleted in connection with abuse, our internal blocklist (see the Privacy Policy) may prevent immediate re-registration with the same identifier.
