Ireland student visa documents

Original passport valid for at least 12 months after your date of arrival in Ireland, with at least 2 blank visa pages. Include all previous passports and full-colour copies of every used page.

Two recent passport-style photographs must be gathered with your supporting documentation and proof of visa fee payment before you submit your application.

Official letter from your Higher Education Institution confirming unconditional placement on an ILEP-listed course, minimum 15 hours of organised daytime tuition weekly, with the fees payable and amount already paid stated.

All qualification awards and individual semester mark sheets proving your ability to follow the chosen course. Indian applicants should also submit DigiLocker copies alongside originals.

Certificate from an accepted test provider showing you have the English-language ability required for your chosen course, submitted with your visa application.

Six months of personal (or sponsor) bank statements showing liquid, verifiable funds, plus sponsor letters and ID if sponsored. Gold valuations, chit funds, and crypto or market-linked funds are not accepted as proof.

If course fees are under €6,000, pay them in full before applying; if fees exceed €6,000, pay at least €6,000 before applying, with evidence visible in your Letter of Acceptance.

Complete the visa application on the AVATS portal; it generates a Summary Sheet/Application form that must be printed, signed, and dated before you submit it with your documents.

Evidence that private medical insurance is arranged, either taken out by the college on your behalf and stated in your Letter of Acceptance, or purchased privately if not arranged by the college.
