Identity
Valid Original Passport (12+ Months)
RequiredOriginal passport valid for at least 12 months after your date of arrival in Ireland, with at least 2 blank visa pages. Include all previous passports and full-colour copies of every used page.
How to get it
Renew via Passport Seva Kendra (any PSK/POPSK centre in India) if validity is short before booking your VFS appointment; standard service takes about 30-45 days, Tatkal is faster. No cost if your passport is already valid.

RequiredTwo recent passport-style photographs must be gathered with your supporting documentation and proof of visa fee payment before you submit your application.
How to get it
Get photos taken at a studio near your VFS Global Visa Application Centre (Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, etc.) close to your appointment date so they stay within any age limit for the photo.

Academic
Letter of Acceptance from Irish Institution
RequiredOfficial letter from your Higher Education Institution confirming unconditional placement on an ILEP-listed course, minimum 15 hours of organised daytime tuition weekly, with the fees payable and amount already paid stated.
How to get it
Requested from the admissions/international office of your Irish college or university once you accept your offer; the letter should be dated within 4 weeks of your visa application.

RequiredAll qualification awards and individual semester mark sheets proving your ability to follow the chosen course. Indian applicants should also submit DigiLocker copies alongside originals.
How to get it
Certified copies of degrees and mark sheets from your Indian institution, at its own charge and typically a few weeks to issue, plus certified translations where anything is not in English. Submit DigiLocker versions alongside the originals where you can, which the Irish visa office asks Indian applicants for specifically.

Language
English Language Test Certificate (IELTS/TOEFL/PTE)
RequiredCertificate from an accepted test provider showing you have the English-language ability required for your chosen course, submitted with your visa application.
How to get it
Book IELTS, PTE, or TOEFL at British Council or IDP centres in major Indian cities; results typically take 3-13 days. Confirm the minimum band score your course requires with the institution first.

Financial
Bank Statements and Proof of Funds
RequiredSix months of personal (or sponsor) bank statements showing liquid, verifiable funds, plus sponsor letters and ID if sponsored. Gold valuations, chit funds, and crypto or market-linked funds are not accepted as proof.
How to get it
Six months of statements in your own name, showing funds built up over time rather than a lump sum that appeared last week. The visa office explicitly refuses gold valuations, chit funds and volatile or crypto holdings, so convert to cash in a bank account well ahead. Sponsor funds need the sponsor's own statements plus proof of relationship.

RequiredIf course fees are under €6,000, pay them in full before applying; if fees exceed €6,000, pay at least €6,000 before applying, with evidence visible in your Letter of Acceptance.
How to get it
Where annual fees exceed EUR 6,000 you must pay them in full before applying; below that, pay whatever the college requires. Transfer to the institution's own account and keep the receipt, since the file needs proof of payment rather than an invoice. Allow a week or more for the transfer from India, and note the money is at risk if the visa is refused, so read the college's refund policy first.

Visa
AVATS Online Application and Summary Form
RequiredComplete the visa application on the AVATS portal; it generates a Summary Sheet/Application form that must be printed, signed, and dated before you submit it with your documents.
How to get it
Apply at visas.inis.gov.ie/avats, then print and sign the generated summary sheet; submit it with your documents at your VFS Global centre in India within 30 days of creating the application.

Health
Private Medical Insurance for Duration of Stay
RequiredEvidence that private medical insurance is arranged, either taken out by the college on your behalf and stated in your Letter of Acceptance, or purchased privately if not arranged by the college.
How to get it
Private cover for the full duration of your stay, bought before you apply at the insurer's own price. For a first-time student visa the college often arranges a group policy, so check whether yours does before buying separately and paying twice.
